I love how he talks about the fact that the answers are within us, and that if we can just get still and quiet, we will hear them – we will be given guidance about which direction to go. That is such a good reminder…
Great question, Lyle. I believe that both are brave. Perhaps it is impossible to say which one is “more brave”. After all, it depends upon the depth of fear that each person is overcoming.
Imagine the socially unaware artist, who does not care about being accepted and understood. Is he or she “brave” when he or she breaks the rules?
Imagine the soldier who believes she is charging a mock army who is only shooting blanks. Is she “brave”?
I think bravery is something we can only measure for ourselves, based on our internal accomplishments and goals.

P.S. I am sure my outlook reflects my own internal values … someone with a different personality type might feel that bravery can be measured based on the outside challenge. If you keep following this line of thinking, though, then pretty soon it is hard to measure anything!
