One of my favorite professors in grad school--it was actually reading one of her books that made me want to attend the school where she was teaching--was Annie Rogers. She did a lot of research on girls, especially during the late childhood and going into adolescence years. She&#039;s also a word-lover and poet and she unearthed old old definitions of the word &quot;courage&quot; and came up with the term &quot;ordinary courage&quot; to coin what she was looking for in her research. Ordinary courage, she said, is &quot;to speak one&#039;s mind by telling all one&#039;s heart.&quot; Isn&#039;t that lovely? Ahhhhhhhh. Love that.
