People: Our Most Disposable Resource
Once again this R-thing is demonstrating that companies believe that the key to long term success is getting rid of their employees.
How bright is that?
Not too!!
Yeah I know, ‘we’re laying people off’, not firing them. Ah. But, will those laid off folks be back? Maybe. Maybe not.
Many of the folks I saw laid off when I worked in corporate Canada, either went to other companies, countries, or became their own boss.
What about you?
Now’s a great time to think about being your own boss.
BUT PLEASE DO NOT sign up for those internet ads that promise $ 50 an hour working at home! Yeah maybe if you’re a hooker!
Yo, Double-L: Chris Garrett wrote a good post on The Blog Herald to other day about this. Becoming your own Boss and trying to hang on to your day-job; that’s the option I’m pursuing. Here in the US, one never knows when an unexpected ‘pink slip’ will come our way. Better to be prepared in some way while the paychecks are regular. Cheers!
